I stopped off at the local comic book store and purchased a set
of backer boards and the magazine size plastic storage bags.
I put my Collins manuals in them.
Unfortunately, these bags are too small for the thicker
Heathkit build books.
These backer boards and plastic covers are "advertised",
"rumored" to keep the ink from lifting and acid free to keep
the paper from deteriorating.
The other week, I saw an original 75S-1 manual sell for $49 on
eBay. Many comic books from that vintage sell for hundreds of
dollars. Some go for thousands.
These backer boards and plastic covers preserve thousand dollar
comic books.
I'm not sure it makes sense to put a manual that I use weekly
in a bag as there is mechanical wear each time I insert the
book.
The gaming stores sell soldiers and trinkets that were
made in low volume. Some are plastic and some are metal.
I'd like to make both winged and meatball Collins emblems for
simulated S-line accessories. I've seen pictures of the
Heathkit monitor scope conversion and a 30S-1 looking antenna
tuner.
I'll probably never build it, I'm mulling over a QRP CW
transmitter to match the 75S-1. Something resembling a 1/3rd
size 32S-1. Maybe a Tuna Tin transmitter in an LMB case with a
scale model winged emblem on it.

Gotta solve the capacitor problem first.
