Times have changed, but I would bet there are still folk out there
wondering why anyone would want to run that tube stuff.

I would also bet there are more rice boxes out there than good, vintage
tube rigs.  That does not make one better than the other.

I like to use both.  That is the only way to evaluate the benefits of
both technologies.  Direct comparison under actual operating conditions.
