We are gratified and appreciative of the number of inquiries on the new =
55G-1 being reproduced by Advanced Optics Ltd. =
(www.advanced-optics.com)

According to the very latest word from Advanced Optics Ltd., the price =
has yet to be determined but it will be much lower than an original =
unit, of course. In two weeks at the Hamvention in Dayton, the unit =
will be on display and a price will be announced at that time. Full =
description will also appear on their website as noted above.

Serious consideration, however, is being given to offer this unit as a =
kit! What this means is that the buyer will have the option of either =
ordering the parts or receiving a list of suppliers to order the parts =
himself. Please note that the major electronic components of the 55G-1 =
are the tuning capacitor, the bandswitch, and the three tuning coils. =
The other smaller parts, like the transistor, the RCA phono connectors, =
resistors, fixed capacitors, etc. are rather incidental items and may be =
in someone's "junk box."

The 55G-1 "kit" will follow the basic philosophy of Heathkits - "You =
supply the labor and save the cost"

Further announcements on availability, price, etc. will be forthcoming =
in May.

Of course, your input is always appreciated.
