About 15 months ago I started haunting the CCA and CRA lists as I had
then just decided I needed to get an S-Line of 1958 vintage.
Within just a couple of weeks I had traded a KWM-1 and a 75A4 for a
complete S-Line of the correct vintage (I needed that because it was in
1958 in Alaska that I learned to become a Ham on a Collins Mars
station). The Transmitter needed some work but the Rx was fine from the
start.
With help form many on these lists I was able to get everything going
and properly aligned by November 23rd of this last year.
On the 4th of April I made the contact that give me WAS on 40 meters
using this rig. Just a few days over 4 months.
After using the S-Line for 4 months on a regular basis I find it is such
a great rig that I dont even turn on the ICOM 725 or the HW-101 at all.
It is just too disappointing when I use them. They cant compare to the
S-Line.
Thanks to everybody for helping me to realize a dream, ownership of a
great Collins S-Line.
Now, I need help again....How do I get back on these two
listt........#8-) I turned them off about two months ago to go on
a trip and cant remember how to turn them back on!!!!!
