An update:
In my haste to write my prior note I did not express that the radio's that I
looked at were unfinished original Collins paint jobs.
It wasn't my intent to push Howard's' work. Sorry for any confusion.
In my younger day's we wrinkle finished Harley Davidson cylinders and heads.
Our approach was to bake them in an oven after the application of the wrinkle
paint. It seemed that the heat brought out a finer wrinkle than the room
temperature approach. This would follow the original Collins look in my opinion.
This also brings in another variable to the mix; correct temperature.
This might be a consideration for a serious attempt at larger volume work
with the cabinets.
Good luck and have fun,
Bob
