Hi folks,
I finished with the PTO relube in my 32S3 and now is working like new. =
Could do it without taking the wiring off the rig, was a bit difficult =
but can be done...
Now I am in the process of retuning the transmitter, but I have the =
following problem:
In 80 and 40 m I can get plenty of grid PA current, and output is about =
80 watts.
In 20, 15 and 10 I can not get any PA grid indication and the power =
output is very low. I measured the RF votage at the PA tubes grids with =
my scope and in these 3 bands is about 20 volts peak to peak only while =
in 80 and 40 is near 200 volts peak to peak. I followed all the RF =
tuning and neutralization steps very carefully, but I am a little lost =
now....What can be causing this low driving in those 3 bands? Any ideas =
of what to check? The trimmers react well so I guess they are in good =
shape...
I have also another question. My rig has the serial number tag (The one =
with Collins name and serial number, made of papaer covered with =
aluminum foil) in very bad condition, I would like to replace it with a =
copy that looks better...Any idea of how can I do it or is there anybody =
that produces these tags?....
Thanks,
Jim, HK3AHM/1
