Thanks to all who responded to the question about my A4 overload problems. 
Turns out that the avc amplifier was way out of  alignment and the avc 
voltage was very low. After alignment the receiver is fine. I also found 
out that the "7 deadly caps" have already been replaced although the 
replacements caps are of a larger value than the originals.
I think I mentioned that the receiver only has the 3.1 kc filter. I found a 
6kc filter but not sure if I want to buy it at this time. I run AM as well 
as ssb and need a wider filter. I am looking at filters made by  Kiwa. I 
would like to have more options than just 3.1 or 6kc selectivity. So my 
question is: do you folks think these Kiwa filters will work. The ones Im 
interested in have a buffer amp at the input and output so Z matching 
should not be a problem. With these buffers, the manufacture says they have 
no insertion loss. Im including Kiwa's web site so u can check it out.
