[Collins] Cooling Your Collins

Ever place your hand on top of your Collins radio, in particular, the =
KWM-2 to feel the heat that is generated inside the unit. With warmer =
weather coming, we need to give our Collins some air to breathe and cut =
down on PTO drift, etc.

Carl, K4ZRD, came up with a hefty power supply that can be used with =
multi-cooling fans to expend the air inside our Collins and other =
radios. No short cuts here - a really nice professional looking unit.

See his website for more pictures and details: =
http://www.k4zrd.com/BoatAnchor.html

At the price that Carl is charging for his cooling units, I think that =
everyone should investigate having one to add years to our Collins. You =
can order direct from Carl.

This is one product enthusiastically endorsed by the CRA. =20

Thanks Carl for all the engineering that certainly show in the design =
of these units. No shortcuts here! =20

I am going up to the Collins Radio Center to place one fan on my KWM-2A =
and the other on my 30L-1. We'll take some jpegs for the CRA website.

Thanks.
