The technique of unbalancing/bypassing the balanced modulator is similar to 
the way they got AM on the KWS-1.

The problem is that you still live with the restricted bandwidth of the 
filter.

I don't want to start a bandwidth argument; that's already raging before the 
FCC in RM-10740.

But, if you want to run AM, most AMers will turn their noses up at a 
'slopbuckety' 'yellowy' sounding AM signal such as what you get throught the SSB 
filter...

That's why I bought a 32V instead of using my KWS-1!
