[Collins] Which AM transmitter to go with S-line?

Remember if you use the 30L-1 with the Ranger II for
AM you will have to reduce the input to around 350
watts. This may require the use of an attenuator
(like Johnson sold for using the Ranger series with
linears). This should give you about 200 to 225 watts
output carrier power.
Of course, current FCC regulations limit AM (actually
carrier-present double-sideband amplitude modulation -
SSB is an AM mode!) to 375 watts carrier output. This
gives a PEP of 1500 watts PEP (a fully modulated "AM"
signal has a PEP value of 4 times the carrier). You
probably already knew that!

Here's my candidate: the EF Johnson Ranger II.
Got both a 30L1 and a 30S1? Use the latter for the
S-line and the former with the Ranger/51S1 setup.
