Hi Jim, That was a fascinating page. It brought back memories of a 20m SSB transceiver which I designed and built in 1964, using a 7360 beam-deflection mixer as a combined receiver front-end (as in the Squires-Sanders SS1-R) and transmitter balanced modulator. There is a description of this radio on my site: <http://www.qsl.net/ab4oj/1ststeps/homebrew/homebrew.html> Best 73, Adam, VA7OJ/AB4OJ North Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.qsl.net/ab4oj/ -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of James True N5ARW Sent: Wednesday, July 02, 2003 18:53 To: Collins List Serv; CCA List Subject: [Collins] Need information on HB KWM-1 This is not strictly Collins but it may be related. I found a really great home brew rig at Dallas HamCom. Someone saw it and told me they thought it was a KWM-1 clone built from an article in GE Ham News but I can't find it in any of the copies I have. No luck in RCA Ham Tips either. It does have a Collins mechanical filter. If anyone has any information on this rig, I would really like to know more. Please take a look at the photos and see if you recognize it. http://www.boatanchor.com/hb_kwm1/index.html Thanks & 73 James N5ARW Sponsored by the Collins Radio Association http://www.collinsra.com
