Well, I'm another one that transcieves cw with the 32S-3 and a 455kc xtal.

It's convenient, I can end up pretty close just using received pitch,
without specifically tuning for zerobeat. The appeal to me is that it works
like the newfangled rig that I ride around with.

CW CAL lets you zerobeat dead-on using the rx VFO, but arguably, if you're
taking that step, you might as well do it "split" with the tx VFO, in which
case the 1.35kc offset of the usb BFO doesn't matter anyway.

I usually transcieve when answering, but there's no "RIT", so there's no
substitute for the two VFOs when tuning all over creation for an answer to a
call.
