I do remember the 32RS-1. It was like a modern 32RA. An acquaintance, AB6MM (?), Richard (SK) of Escondido had one along with W6CC. They used it to talk to each other but because of the single channel nature of that rig, it wasn't really useful for general ham purposes. I good use for something like that would probably HF SSB MARS or CAP (which I think could be adjuncts to ham radio operations). It would be an interesting addition to the ham shack and that's just about it. Cal, N6KYR.

glance looked like a rackmounted piece of S-line gear or a KWM-2
transceiver. It wasn't though, which is why I took an interest in it at the
time, as it looked very like the S-line cabinet styling but rack mounted. (I
knew the S-line gear well as I already owned my first one at that stage.)
I believe it was an HF SSB rig, and xtal controlled on a few channels but,
again, this may not be correct. Why I didn't write down its type number at
the time I don't know-but I didn't!
Looking it up, later on, I came to the conclusion it must have been a
32RS-1 transceiver ----until I recently saw a picture of one of these --a
big metal boxlike thing--and what I am remembering was nothing like that at
all.
I may just be able to track this bit of gear to it's current owner-don't
know who that is, but have traced someone who sez he does know. I have yet
to arrange a visit to this latter person but I'm trying to get info on the
rig before I find out where it is and maybe go and 'just see it' again- (I'm
actually hoping to maybe add it to my Collins collection, but don't tell the
XYL!)
Can anyone recoginse what equipment it might be, from the above rather
vague description?
