[Collins] KWM-2A changeover recovery question, etc

Dear Readers:

I have two challenges with my KWM-2A:

First, when I go from tune or transmit mode to receive mode, the radio
"hangs" for about two seconds or so until full receive is regained. The
meter pins abuptly, and then settles down to its natural position. I don't
think this is at all related to the AGC circuit, as even the strongest of
signals don't cause this problem. My hunch is that one of the relay
contacts is being "made" or "broken" prematurely, causing a spike. Probably
happened when I was burnishing the contacts. But which one? And in which
direction do I bend the arm?

Second, I get no output on 10 meters. Inserting a wire between the 6CL6
driver and the tube shield, and connecting it to my rf voltmeter tells me I
have as much output from the driver on 10 as I do on other bands, but no rf
seems to be getting into the tank circuit. I don't think its the
bandswitch, because even when I bypass the bandswitch (short out all but the
small coil - I forget what it is labeled), rf out is zero.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Jeff
