[Collins] 30L-1 Tuned Input Problems

I thought I would let you gentlemen, along with the reflector
subscribers, know what I found.
To refresh you, the primary problem was high Input SWR on the 15 and 10
Meter
bands. The other bands were fine and the amp gave me full output on
those, whereas I could only get 300 or so on the top two bands along
with the high SWR.

I found a bad C-1 cap (.01 pf) on the filament side of the line going to
S1B switch. Also bad was C-18 (8-50 pf variable trimmer). Replacement
of these brought the SWR on the two bands down to a respectable level
(3 watts or less). The final problem (low output on 15 & 10) was cured
with a new set of Cetron 811's. I guess the old tubes loved the low
bands but not the high ones.

Many thanks to all of you fine gentlemen. Another fine old piece of
Collins Iron is saved.
