[Collins] cold solder joint??

Could be dirty switch contacts. Could be poor grounding of a coil
shield. Could be a bad solder joint. Collins soldering standards
demanded mechanically strong joints (wrapped around a pin or through a
pin) before soldering. All soldering was manual. There could be a faulty
joint that didn't turn bad until this year.
Attack the switch contacts with small drops of DeOxit, same thing for
the shield grounding. If that doesn't work, identify the circuit going
open by circuit tracing and apply heat and solder to fix the bad solder
joint.
