The BFO crystal frequencies usually go up as they age=2E=20
Most of the Collins radios I repaired had the problem=2E
Rather than replacing the crystals, I usually install a parallel capacitor
to pad down the crystal frequency=2E Last time I used a 36PF capacitor
to reduce the BFO frequency by 45Hz=2E I usually try to keep the BFO
frequency within +- 5Hz=2E
