Hi again,
Recently I posted about the availability of replacement chokes and
transformer for the 516F-2. I got a good response so the project will
move forward. I will be in touch with each of you individually when it
is time. Those who are interested and haven't said so can still get in
on the project by emailing me now.
It looks like there is enough preliminary interest in getting the 30L-1
transformer manufactured as well. This is the HV, filament, bias
transformer in the amp. I have ballparked the transformer specs
(Collins did not give complete specs) and talked to the manufacturer.
This would be an exact fit transformer with the same characteristics as
the original. It looks like the cost would be about $95 plus S&H. Less
expensive than I thought. The price can vary some depending on the
number who commit.
I don't want any money yet, just your serious commitment that you want
one or more. If we still have enough to go forward, I will disassemble
my 30L-1 RE and take exact measurements of size and voltage. So let me
know if you are interested in the 30L-1 project even if you already said
so in the 516F-2 response.
