Even better at getting the attention of the station owner in a BC
station with half a dozen rectifiers per power stage if just 3 phase
full wave, or a dozen if 6 phase for lower ripple. Which ONE flashed
over? Are there enough spares to replace them all and have those spares
been stored upright ALL the time since they were last heated to be sure
there's no mercury on the plate or is it going to take 12 hours of
cooking before I can try the plate voltage again? A real pain in
broadcast service. Sure it breathed fire, but so did the station manager
when it was off the air!
