That strap isn't copper, it would work harden. Its probably phosphor
bronze or beryllium copper. I've made such straps for other equipment by
finding fingerstock and cutting off the fingers. Today, I'd try McMaster
Carr for the bronze strap and make the necessary holes and maybe the
hollow rivets to spread the spring load. www.mcmaster.com
