At the time, we had tested tung oil, which was and is very common, and it was 
not a match.   I see that the website claims china wood oil is the same as 
tung oil, and while this might sell more tung oil for them, it will not provide 
the correct wrinkle for St. James Grey.   Tung oil is made by compressing tung 
nuts; china wood oil is made by compressing the wood of a china wood tree, 
which is a type of cedar tree indigenous to China (nice play on Cedar Rapids, i 
thought).   This is what was in the original St. James Grey paint.

I have seen some remarkable St. James Grey repainting jobs done by several 
Collins restoration experts, and they sure look close enough for me, especially 
when repainting the entire radio.   Paint technology has advanced greatly 
since i had some of the original paint mixed thirty years ago.
