[Collins] 51S-1 question

My 51S-1 recently lost a great deal of audio output
and what audio there was became very distorted.  I
checked the tubes and found the 7543 on the PTO to be
bad, so it was replaced.  Now when it is turned on,
for about the first two minutes I have plenty of audio
and it sounds fine, but then it drops off to the point
where the AF gain has be about 1/2 to 1/3 open to hear
anything and it is distorted. Any advice?
