Hi Collins Techs,
I need to turn to you for help once more.
I am (still) trying to re-surrect a Collins 32S-3 transmitter.
On tune up, everything is normal and within specs till I get to the =
P.A.plate current dip.
Exciter tuning gives a healthy P.A. grid current indication with very =
little mic. gain, lets say 1/3 on the mike gain adjustment. Switching to =
P.A. plate current there is a max of about 10 MA plate current on the =
meter and P.A. tuning has no effect on the meter. However, switching =
back to P.A. grid current will produce a noticeable dip in the grid =
current with the P.A. plate tuning knob adjustment. All voltages seem to =
be normal and all tubes are good and or exchanged with known good ones. =
Is there a problem in the final tank circuit or am I missing something?
Thanks very much in advance for you help.
73,
Peter, NH6VB
