I agree - paying for any kind of "fancy cooling system" is absurd. A simple
muffin fan will do the trick nicely.
Forget "power supplies" ... just use the 6.3vac already available (like
KN4I suggests), rectify it using a simple bridge and capacitor and power an
inexpensive 12vdc fan pulling air out. It makes an amazing difference in
temperatures.
