[Collins] Hot Air

Al, when you vacuum a piece of radio equipment to remove dust, etc. aren't
you operating on the same principle as a cooling fan sucking air (dust) from
the unit? I really think that we drifted off somewhere in this discussion.
I was simply trying to point out that cooling fans should be positioned to
exhaust "hot" air from the Collins, which the fans for the "Boatanchor
Cooler" unit provides for by raising the fan slightly from the cabinet lid
using small rubber mounts.

I guess that I did start to cut off the limb that I was sitting on when I
started talking about dust, etc. It is air movement that we need to
concentrate on to keep our Collins nice and cool. My 30L-1 runs nice and
cool now with the Boatanchor Cooler unit.

Enough already of all this hot air! Time to move on and make the donuts!
