Yes ...it is confusing many peoples .....but the right connections are
supposed to be like this ...according to the latest book ....and supported
by me .
For 110 ....the black ( the hot side ) goes in the back of the 2 fuses from
.terminal no. 1 and 2 and the Wht goes to 5 and 4
For 220 ...Black goes to 2.....Wht to 5 ....and 1 is jumped to 4 ...

It is very important ( for 110 ) to make sure that the hot side of your
house IS GOING to the back of the 2 fuses .

I did came across a 30L1 that was still on with the switch OFF .....and
ALSO with the 2 fuses removed .....YES .....One of the feedthru bypass
capacitor was short to the ground ...and the 110 hot side was not fused .

I am specialized on the 30L1 since 1979 .....This is by far my favorite
amplifier ,I never heard any distortions out of it , instant turn ON ,
tubes are raisonably priced ( including the 572-B's ) ...800 watts out in
SSB since 1996 with my Heavy duty voltage doubler Diodes-Capacitors new
board ..( no changes to the Basic schematic ) and small enough to be in
front of me on the shelf above my KWM-2A .....

Good Luck ...... Feedbacks Welcome
Best Regards
