Several people have asked what is the white dial on
both of my S-Line receivers that appear in the photos
of my shack.

This is nothing more than a copy of the preselector
dial that appeared as part of an article in 73
Magazine back from the late 1960s or early 1970s that
was about building a synthesizer for the heterodyne
oscillator. The project turned the S-Line equipment
into a full general coverage unit. I never built the
synthesizer, but I found that with the WARC bands and
a couple of SWL bands that it was very "handy" to have
the frequency calibration right on the receiver. They
come off easily and don't harm the front panel.

I originally put the calibration on my 75S3A and then
decided to put it on the 75S1. I used to have another
75S3 that I did the same thing. Just makes things a
"bit" easier.
