A number of Collins users took a tour of WLW near Cincinnati last May as =
a side trip from the Dayton Hamvention.

For a glimpse back into the past at WLW station that ran 500 KW before =
WWII, go to=20
http://www.w9gr.com/ohiotrip/wlw.html

WLW now runs 50 KW using a solid-state Harris transmitter. What a =
superb piece of electronics, designed by a fellow Johnstownian, Geoff =
Mendenhall, who is a vice-president. at Harris Corporation. Geoff =
visited the Collins Radio Center when he was home this year visiting his =
parents who live near us and we were delighted to have him as our guest. =
Holder of numerous patents, Geoff is a renouned expert in FM =
transmitter design. Yes, he does love Collins!
