Hello. I'm a new owner of a 32S-1 transmitter, and when I checked the =
bias setting per the directions in the manual, I could not get the 40mA =
of plate current recommended in the directions. The lowest it would go =
is 150mA, and the highest was enough to pin the meter. I checked the =
bias voltage from the 516F-2, and it was adjustable from -25v down to =
-140v. No matter where I set the bias, the plate current just ran away. =
I looked in the PA cage, and found that the tubes were 6146B's. I seemed =
to remember that 6146B's are nearly impossible to neutralize for very =
long in a circuit designed for 6146's. Has anyone had any experience =
with this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
