[Collins] 75S-3 problem

I recently bought a 75S-3 and it seems to work fine on
all bands in the AM/USB/CW modes, but not in LSB.  I
can hear signals, but they can't be tuned in.  They
are just garbled.  Not  being having much background
in repair, where should I start?  Any ideas about
possible causes?
