OK, here's the story:
I recently bought a KWS-1, which was in pieces when I received it. One of the 'pieces' was the large Collins emblem for the Power Supply Door. (The original had suffered the usual fate of being broken off and lost, leaving the studs behind).
Tonite, as one of my finishing touches to getting the venerable transmitter back together, I went to install the emblem on the door.
I found that the stud spacing on the emblem doesn't match the hole spacing in the door - it's too large.
I suspect I have an emblem from some other piece of Collins gear - 30K, KW-1, etc.
SOoooo....
The emblem I have is for sale. It is in EXCELLENT condition, looks to be original brushed chrome finish and red paint in perfect condition. Has both studs with nuts. It measures 6-7/8" from 'wingtip' to 'wingtip'. The studs are 4-7/8" center-center, +/- 1/16".
I am looking to buy the correct emblem, which would have studs at 4-1/8" centers.
Yes, I could drill the door and install the emblem, but I hate to put any extra holes in it.
I would prefer even swap for the proper original emblem.
I know about the large emblems on eBay, and will check out their dimensions with the seller...
Thanks!
