Hi Gang,

I am looking for your opinions.

I have a close friend of mine who is an auto painter, specializing in
repainting repairs after collision damage. He also just repainted my
restoration of a a 1978 Buick Regal Turbo Sport Coupe. (Man what a car)

His work is in my estimation superb. I get compliments off the street
everyday.

Since I have seven Collins Cabinets that need repainting I talked to him
today and showed one of them to him to see if he (1) was interested and (2)
if he could do them , his answer was yes.

I then thought about all of you who might be struggling with this same
problem.

Not to waste bandwidth I am going ahead with my own stuff and I told him I
would put it up on the reflector to see if anyone else had an interest.

Let me be perfectly clear on this.

If there is enough interest he will do it it.

The groundrules would be these:

(1) There is enough interest

(2) I will put you in direct contact with him via email or snailmail.

(3) I am doing this as an offered service to the reflector members at no
cost or no gain to myself. If I have to get involved in anyway I
would charge only for out of pocket expenses. I would
really rather not be.

(4) At this juncture I am only looking to see if there is enough reasonable
amount of interest to continue with the discussion with him on a larger
basis or if I should just keep it personal.

(5) The ground rules are clear --- the color and the finish must be EXACT
-- not able to be distiguished from the factory original.

I think the probability is great. He is a colorist, can get the finish, and
has the equipment--- including the ovens to bake the final product, which
Collins did.

I sold semiconductors to Collins in Dallas and Cedar Rapids for years, had
the priviledge to meet and know Art, and finally have enough money to own
some of his equipment. (Couldn't afford it then -- still wondering if I
can). Great stuff so if I can help I would like to.

If there is enough interest I will continue and keep you all advised.

If any of you have an interest pls respond directly to me at
<[email protected]>

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE this is not an auction, it is just an honest effort to
help out. If you are not interested just delete this.

All the best,

73's'
