Jim,
The impedance transformer is recommended; the output voltage of the element
will be insufficient to drive the 32S-3 properly. You can order the element
and the transformer from Heil Sound. http://www.heilsound.com/

I'm thinking about retro-fitting an old mike with the Heil HC-5 (ragchew)
element.
How does this element sound with the 32S-3?
Is the impedance matching transformer needed or will the 32S handle the 2000
ohm output?
Thanks,
Jim
