Richard, the Collins Radio Association would be happy to assist such a
worthy project. I will forward your request to our mail list where someone
may be able to assist you. Please keep me informed as the project moves
forward. If you do not get any response(s), I have some other channels to
pursue.

Subject: Collins URC-9
Hi,
Found your site recently.
My name is Rich Angelini and am the assistant curator of Battleship Cove
Naval Park, and more in particular the restoration of the destroyer Joseph P
Kennedy Jr, DD850. We are currently restoring her to her late 60's
appearance and in fact are presently restoring her radio rooms.
We have done some intense research to figure out what she carried around
1969 and list what we are missing.
Unfortunately, the USN ripped out two of 850s SRC-21 sets that contained
Collins URC-9 transceivers.
By any chance, do you know or can you point me to a location or contact
where we might be able to acquire two URC-9s for restoration and display?
It is our intent to restore the equipment to its original working and
cosmetic order to effectively represent this ships and her internals in a
Vietnam era manner,
Thank you for any help,
Richard Angelini
