Roger that! After having restored a 32-V2 a few years ago, I can tell you that those postage type mica caps tend to go. A driver stage went bye bye when the cap shorted to ground. In all actuality, it took out the load resistor and that was that. It was a PITA trying to look for it but I found her and replaced it post haste! After much restoration and that last troubleshooting, I had one more run in with the 32V during a 75m AM QSO. Smoked something. Pooooof! That was the end of that and I sold the lady to a close friend of mine. He hasn't touched it yet but in case he's willing to sell #1776 back to me, I'll definitely take her back! Cal, N6KYR.

Check for a leaky C-128.

I am having difficulty getting sufficient grid drive on the 10 meter amateur
band. I have sufficient grid drive at the lower end (26 to 28 Mhz) and then
it just falls off. I did follow the tune-up procedures exactly.

Adjusted the three coils and readjusted the cam train. Nothing erractice
there. But try as I may, no grid drive above 28 mhz. The 32V-2 does track in
terms of grid drive in the bottom portion of 10 meters but it does not after
28 Mhz. What am I missing?
