Greetings -
I am the proud new owner of a 'slightly disfunctional' KWM-380, s/n 870.
The problem with it seems to be with the PLL/synthesizer circuit as it
emits a rapid 'beep-beep-beep-beep' sound when turned on. The fellow I
purchased it from had been using it until this happened. He claimed it
was a problem with a low voltage power supply or such, but the service
manual seems to list this beeping as an indication of loss of frequency
lock? I found it under instructions for servicing the synthesizer.
I've contacted a couple of the suggested sources on the CCA page for
service information, but thought I'd post the question here to see what
other owners have come across and what, if anything I can do to rectify
the problem. It has services bulletins included in the service manual up
to #12 IIRC. Unfortunately the manual doesn't make it easy to
troubleshoot problems, unless I'm missing the 'troubleshooting' section.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is my only SS
rig, so it's pretty much alien to my limited knowledge base. I'd like to
find out more about what SBs to install, accessories, etc. It's all new
to me.
Thanks -
