I'm in the process of selling a 75A-4 and have been advised to
remove the 4:1 knob prior to shipping when it sells. The "Collins
Vernier Tuning Knob" instruction book says to remove the old one
with a #10 wrench and install the 4:1 with a #4 wrench. I have the
Bristol wrench which fits the standard Collins knobs .......it does
not fit. I have several other Bristol wrenches ....they don't fit. I
can't see well enough to see what the set screw looks like inside
the knob ....what is a #4 wrench relative to the one which fits the
other knobs ?
Also, if anyone would like a copy of the Collins instruction book
for the Vernier Tuning Knob (Collins part number 541 6291 00)
send me $1 and an SASE. Address OK in QRZ and any callbook.
