I don't know what size wire K4 is but I've had considerable luck
scraping the insulation off #38 AWG (.004") and larger wire with
a single edge razor blade. Just make sure nearly all the force is
parallel to the wire. Even repaired some IF transformers.

Subject: [Collins] K4 repair?
Message-ID: <025d01c1d91a$6c9cd880$[email protected]>

Hello All,

While I was cleaning the K4 contacts of the KWM2-A, I happened to
cut the magnet wire of the coil at the terminal.
Since the magnet wire is extremely fine, I cannot remove the coat
out of the wire with the method I usually use.

Question:
    1. What method do I take for removing the coat?
Or should I bag it to avoid such a microscopic (crazy?) work and
get
        a replacement?

    2. Where can I find a reasonable relay for K4?
I found one at Allied Electronics but I think it's still
expensive
(less
        than that of SSN, though).

Thanks in advance,

Osamu Hazawa
