From bob at k0nr.com Thu May 28 22:20:41 2026 From: bob at k0nr.com (Bob Witte K0NR) Date: Thu, 28 May 2026 20:20:41 -0600 Subject: [COham] W1AW/0 From Pikes Peak VHF/UHF In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: The ARRL HQ station (W1AW) is making the rounds through the 50 states, as part of the year-long Worked-All-States operating event celebrating America's 250th Anniversary. This week the station is on the air from Colorado, with call sign W1AW/0. Many Colorado hams are taking on the job of putting W1AW/0 on the air using their home station or operating portable. Joyce K0JJW and I will be operating as W1AW/0 from America's Mountain, Pikes Peak on Sunday May 31st. This will be a VHF/UHF operation that includes Summits On The Air (W0C/FR-004) and Parks On The Air (Pike National Forest, US-4404). Date: Sunday May 31st Operating times: 10 AM to 3 pm local (approximate) Frequencies: ? ? ? ? 146.58 MHz FM ? ? ? ? 144.200 MHz SSB ? ? ? ? 446.00 MHz FM ? ? ? ? 432.100 MHz SSB ? ? ? ? 50.125 MHz SSB ? ? ? ? 50.313 MHz FT8 Our go-to band/mode will be 2m FM but we will also hit the other modes. In particular, the SOTA program has a special challenge running in 2026 that promotes 2m and 70cm SSB. If there is sporadic-e propagation on 6m, that will certainly get our attention. We really appreciate your contacting us, as we are trying to rack up a bunch of QSOs for the statewide W1AW/0 effort. We will spend a lot of time on 2m FM and move around to the other bands/modes depending on propagation and level of activity. We hope to work you on Sunday! 73, Bob Bob Witte K0NR bob at k0nr.com My website: www.k0nr.com My latest book: /VHF, Summits, and More (2nd edition)/
