WA2XRM is on 166.666 kHz sending CW
from 0900 MDT to 1300 MDT, Today 30 July 2017.
The ground is wet, The QRN is low and my insulators are dry....
Storms coming in afternoon.
Listening to LF is a challenge, You probably won't hear me on a 20 meter beam.
You also must remove any antenna tuner and long sections of coax you might have in line with your antenna.
There maybe a lot of local noise generated by switching power supplies, SCR's, battery chargers, etc.
Check your receiver and antenna by listening for the AirNav Beacon "ITR" in Burlington, CO, on 209 kHz, "IHS" on 335 kHz, or "CO" on 407 kHz in COS, "ULS" on 395 kHz, in Ulysses, KS.
You must check one of these beacons to see if your receiver is working.
The Elecraft K3/K3s must have the KBPF3A installed and you must move your LF antenna connection to the "RX ANT IN" BNC Connector. Press the "RX ANT" button and keep the "PRE" On. See Owner's manual.
The BC453 will receive the AirNav Beacons but it won't receive 166 kHz unless modified.
My erp is less than 100 mW. This is real QRP.
This maybe the weakest CW signal you have ever heard.
