Yes, Woodland Park now has Safety Signaling Devices at the corner of Hwy 24 and Foster St. (at Arby's).
You remember my trip report to Moab last summer...
Moab a a funny little desert town with a great Mexican restaurant.
The Fiesta Mexicana, 202 s. Main. Great mex food !
At this uncontrolled intersection (No stop signs or traffic lights) there are a bunch
of orange flags (10' x 10') on a stick attached to the light post.
There is a sign there directing you to grab a flag and make for the other side of the road.
(like they used to have a flag man go ahead of the first autos to prevent scaring the horses).
So after Sharon and I successfully got across Main street waving our flags,
I saw a guy across the street who had flags.
So I waved at him, he took 2 flags and waved back.
I did some semaphore signals and he mimicked my signals back, then I tried Morse Wig-Wag and he reflected my signal back to me, He didn't know what I was sending but we had a big ending of laughing and flagging...
I have never seen a town that requires you to use signal flags to get across the street.
Now Woodland Park has them too !
Stop at Arby's and check them out.See if you can stop Hwy 24 (40 MPH) Traffic with a small orange flag.
