[COham] SET with No Infrastructure

Hello Everybody,

Is there a simulated emergency test that I can try my portable, field ready rig out on 40 or 80m NVIS to Colorado stations? I don't wish to participate in anything that involves frequencies higher than 7.3 MHz or using a computer to communicate, just a mic or paddles.

If nothing organized, can I solicit a sked to do just this?

I'd like to try out the effectiveness of my Elecraft KX3 on SSB (Oh! Gasp!) with emergency power and antenna out in the field on 40 or 80m to other Colorado stations, maybe even neighboring states. Field day just doesn't happen as frequently as I'd like! :) 

Nothing long duration, just enough time to setup, get on, make some QSOs, evaluate the effectiveness of my setup...maybe even your. 

There are just too many nice weekends not to try something like this.
