Hi everyone:
After some reconsideration (And remembering the fact that I somehow
messed up the menus of my ICOM IC-706 MKII-G whereas I can't set the
PL Tone on 146.490), I have decided that it really wouldn't matter if
I was on 146.490 or 147.465 as any QRM I get would be THE SAME with
the preamp kicked in.
As such, I'm now back on 147.465 and DO NOT plan on going anywhere.
Again, KB0OXD-L is an OPEN ACCESS node (You just gotta have the node
number to bring up the node and the # sign to bring it down). There
is a 100 Hz. PL that is REQUIRED for access, but that's only to keep
the RF junk out (Not the HAMS! :) ).
So feel free to use the node anytime. That said, you may wanna look
me up in the callbook and see where I am in relation to you so you
don't waste your time and send out all kinds of RF trying to reach a
node which may be out of range (I'm sure you wouldn't wanna try to
work your buddy that way, would you?).
Anyway....Just figured I'd pass along this FYI note. :)
Cheers & 73 :D
