Subject: [COham] Tower package for sale (pick up only)
For Sale:
1. Tristao 40 foot tubular tower (crankup expanding mast). Includes the
tilt-over fixture, and winches to tilt and raise. No climbing! This
(self-supporting) tower has been supporting a HyGain TH5DX (see picture at
link), and for the last few years, has also had a 5 element 6m yagi stacked
6' above the TH5. The tower lowers to about 22', then tilts over to ground
level for antenna maintenance. One man operation to tilt and raise with the
two separate winches. This tower is very similar to the present day US
Towers MA-40 crankup.
*** A bit of history:
The "father of crank-up towers," Lou Tristao, KG6VY (SK), of Visalia,
California, started Tristao Expanding Masts, which became Tri-Ex; Tristao
Towers, which became US Towers, and the Wilson line of crank-ups.
2. HyGain TH5DX triband yagi in excellent condition. This antenna has all
stainless hardware. Includes the BN-86 balun. This antenna provides 3 active
elements on 20m and 15m, and 4 active elements on 10m.
3. Alliance HD-73 Rotor.
Asking $600 for the package (Tower, TH5DX, Rotor). Call Roger, N0VR at (719)
337-9176.
Reason for selling: I am replacing this tower with Rohn 25 in order to
support a 3 element SteppIR HF yagi, a long boom 6m yagi, a 4.2 wavelength
18 element 2m yagi, and a 22 element 432 yagi stack. The Tristao won't
handle the additional antenna load with the added mast height needed for
such a stack.
