[COham] New EchoLink Node & Upcoming New Nets On It...

Hi everyone:

Those of you on the EchoLink groups know that I now have my own link
set up (At LONG last!), even though it's currently not running like it
should (Jim, WB2REM knows what I'm talking about).

However this WILL NOT be just another one of those links that just sit
in idle mode all the time. Mine will have NETS and other cool stuff.

For those of you locals on the Colorado Ham lists, my link is
currently siting on 446.175 Mhz. with a 107.2 PL Tone for access (This
is to keep the RFI out, though I ususally don't have a problem with
that where I live). However this is only the backup frequency. I
plan to make 52.540 Mhz. the primary frequency once I get the issue
with my SWRs on 6 meters figured out. It too will carry the 107.2 PL
Tone to be in keeping with the local 6 meter repeaters in town.

As for the NETS I mentioned....Well, lemme just preface this by saying
that you EchoLinkers know all about many of these nets, though there a
few that will be totally new to you.

For you locals, the nets that will appear (On a joined basis that is)
on 52.540/446.175 are as follows. If you don't have EchoLink, please
ignore the reference to the original source as it would take EchoLink
to fully understand the references.

MON-FRI
+++++++

11:00 AM - Handi-Hams Noontime Net (From the N0BVE-R Node)

MONDAY
+++++++

6:00 PM - Handi-Hams Monday Night Net (From the N0BVE-R Node)

SATURDAY
+++++++++

 7:30 PM - AB8RL-L Net (From the *WAWV* EchoLink Conference Server)

In addition, I plan to add a few nets that will originate from my own
link as well. These will include (But are not limited to) the
following....

* An Ad-Hoc Traffic Handling Net

* A Ragchew net similar to the aforementioned AB8RL net, only with the
playing of This Week In Amateur Radio instead of ARRL Audio News.

* A 6 meter FM simplex net

 Anyways, you locals feel free to monitor 52.540 and 446.175 for
activity. You can also tune in via Windows Media Player by putting
http://www.qsl.net/kb0oxd/multimedia/audio/rflinklive.asx into the
OPEN URL dialog box in Windows Media Player. It's a 16K feed, so
unless you're on a REALLY crappy dialup connection, you should have no
problems receiving it. Once I get the node running like it should be
running, I'll then post a web page with how you can get access to the
node.

In the meantime, I could use a little help from you locals with
knowing what the node sounds like going over RF. If any of you are
near or within earshot of stations close to 1st & Broadway (Those are
general cross streets, NOT my exact location BTW), it'd sure be
appreciated if you could punch up 446.175 simplex (As in NO offset at
all) and give me a call sometime (I'll shut off the PL so you won't
need to mess with that). You can either be at home, mobile, or at a
quiet location on your handheld. All I need to know is whether I'm
transmitting audio or not when I'm on EchoLink (If I had an HT, I'd
make this check myself, but I do not own an HT or a mobile setup).

I look forward to hearing from you locals.... :D

Cheers & 73  :D
