Hi Paul ...

I'm hearing what seems to be a weak but fairly steady carrier on 480. About
S2 here in Longmont. Can't detect any CW. Not a great antenna - low
inverted L, but did receive the 407 KHz aircraft beacon okay. R75 receiver.
Will listen more after dark.

<> Hi CO guys,
<> The high bands maybe dead but the Low Bands are still OK..
<> i need some Daytime CO reception reports of the RW LF Beacon...
<> The 'RW' Beacon, WA2XRM, is sending 'RW' in CW at 20 wpm on 480 kHz
<> continiously all day today, 12/16/06.
<>
<> The Beacon is running 125W to a 30 foot vertical in Colorado Springs.
<>
<> You might have to disconnect your tuner and hook on your biggest
antenna
<> to your receiver to hear the weak CW signal.
<> You can optimize your antenna system by tuning in the airport beacon
"CO"
<> on 407 kHz.
<> Lamp dimmers and computer power supplies can also cause a lot of noise
<> that will mask out low frequency signals.
<> Night time transmissions are 3 minutes long on the hour and at the
half,
<> (Starting at xx:00 to xx:03 minutes and again at xx:30 to xx:33 minutes
<> synchronized with WWV) from 0000z to 0700z.
