Please join the Paraset Group in commemorating VE Day # 60 (The end of W.W.II
in Europe).
A number of Paraset Spy Radios will be on the air on May 8th, Sunday.

Operation begins at:
0800z +/- Propagation in New Zealand/Australia,
2000z in Europe,
0200z (May 9th UTC) in the USA.

Paraset stations call CQ 'PS' and will tune 3.5 - 3.7 MHz for any calls.
7 MHz stations will tune 7.0 to 7.2 MHz.

Here is a list of the known US Paraset stations on the air at 0200z.
WA8YWO Mike 3610
W0RW Paul 7039 COS
VE3EIM Bob 7041
K3IMW Ian 7045
---------
ZL2OB Des 7020 at 0800Z +/-

Plus, there may be other clandestine Paraset Stations on the air.

They will be calling CQ "PS"...
(They will be the foxes) and will listen on their transmitting frequency
first and then tune the CW band for any calls.
Parasets are crystal controlled and maybe anywhere in the 3.5-3.7, 7.0-7.2 MHz
band.
The exchange will be 'RST, Name, State, Paraset s/n or your age in 1945'.

Send your contact list to Paul, w0rw at aol.com, or Post your results on the
Paraset Yahoogroup.

----------
In case you don't know what a Paraset is...
The Paraset is a small British "Spy" transmitter/receiver supplied to the
resistance forces during W.W.II mainly in France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
It uses 3 metal tubes :
1) 6SK7 -  Regen. Detector
2) 6SK7 - AF Amplifier
3) 6V6 - Crystal Oscillator/Power Amplifier
The range covered from the receiver is  3.2 - 8 MHz on AM and CW modes.
The transmitter is crystal controlled and works on the same frequency range.
The power output is about 6W.
The set was originally powered by a small 6 VDC vibrator power supply.

Thanks to Mario, IK0MOZ and Ken, W7EKB for posting all the technical
information.
