[COham] Fun kits

I have built two kits in the last few months that I really like.

The first is a CW keyer kit from K1EL ( www.k1el.com ). It has more
features that you can believe, handles from around 5 wpm to about 99
wpm, has programmable function keys (if you use a keyboard) will
accommodate a display, has contest numbering, farnsworth, etc.

While this is not a beginners kit (27 components, one 8 pin IC, two 14
pin ICs, etc.) on a 2 inch by 2-1/2 inch board, it is a gem! If you
don't have a good keyer, think about one of these ($32 delivered to your
mail-box).

The second one is the EleCraft XG1 signal generator (see the latest QST
for a full writeup). This little gem puts out a 50 microvolt signal on
7.040 into 50 ohms. This gives you an excellent way to compare your S
meter to what it should read. $42.25 delivered to your mailbox.

Some really fun toys!
