[COham] Participation

I went to the qth.net site and found this as the stated purpose of COHam....

COham is a mailing list (reflector) open to all radio amateurs (hams) residing in Colorado
(or anyone interested) for the purpose of enhancing communication throughout the state.

* Hamfests
* Upcoming Meetings
* Gossip
* Elmering
* Coordination
* Emergencies, assistance
* Hams, Experimenters, Hobbyists
* Newbies, Wannabees, Old Timers
* Anything COham Related

------end of qth.net content ------

My personal opinion is that this list is most useful for passing along info that is
pertinent to Colorado.
I am thinking of hamfest announcements, operating events, etc. We certainly could use a
little more traffic on this list but I wouldn't want it to get too busy.

Just moved here and signed up - seems not to be much going on - but, given
that there are CO hams signed up on the reflector, perhaps it would be a
good thing to have in emergency situations?

Is there a policy regarding listing "for sale" or "want to buy"
items? Might be a good use of the reflector for letting CO hams make
purchases of surplus gear "locally".

Is there a use for spreading news about other CO activities of general news
to CO hams? There was a similar low use on the AK hams reflector, but
occasionally it proved to be a good resource.

I'd hate to see it go.
