A Very Special Evening for Everyone
A number of you remember the CQC dinner when Rich W0HEP spoke of his trip to
Russia, operating from a somewhat-exotic spot, especially for an American.
Maybe you remember Walt W0CP and his DX-pedition to a Pacific island. Many
remember the club meeting with Paul Harden NA5N, our member electronics
guru. How about the meetings with Yardley Beers W0JF, a legend in
electronics and amateur radio. And all the other meetings with member
experts in various areas. They were meetings we won't forget.
Now you have an opportunity bigger than any of these, in fact maybe as big
as
all of them combined. How would you like to spend an evening listening to
someone known worldwide talk about our favorite subject, QRP, hurricanes
and
ham radio, personal experiences in an exotic, semi-tropical QTH, and more
and
even have a chance to ask questions? Your opportunity is a reality.
Professor Arnie Coro, CO2KK, the host of DXers Unlimited, a program geared
to
hams and radio enthusiats broadcast twice a week on Radio Havana Cuba will
be
the speaker at the Colorado QRP Club banquet Saturday, Feb. 16 in Aurora.
To quote Jay Marvin, formerly the #1 talk show host in Denver on KOA and
KHOW, now at WLS in Chicago, "Arnie is probably the most intelligent
individual I know. Your club is very lucky to have Arnie as your speaker.
You will love him." I have also heard from the editor of CQ Magazine. He,
too, has glowing comments about Arnie.
Don't miss this opportunity to meet Arnie up close and personal. Everyone
is
welcome. CQC membership not required. Prizes, too. Reservations are
REQUIRED. Reservations must be received by 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11. Please
do
not wait. Send a check or use Pay Pal today. Be sure to bring your wife or
husband and friends. The program will interest non-hams, too. Spread the
word
today. Check the CQC website for details. WWW.CQC.ORG

When I called a member last night about attending our banquet, he said,
